Fees, Practice Model, and Fit
My practice is intentionally designed for individuals (adults and adolescents) who value depth, discretion, and a high level of professional engagement in their psychological work. Many of the clients I work with are high-achieving professionals, leaders, athletes, and individuals navigating complex personal or performance-related demands. They are not looking for symptom management alone—they are seeking clarity, perspective, and meaningful change.
To support that level of work, I operate a self-pay (private pay) practice.
Professional Fees
All clinical services are prorated at a rate of $360 per hour.
- Initial consultation: $320
- 90-minute session: $540
- 60-minute session: $360
- 45-minute session: $270
Brief professional services provided outside of scheduled sessions—including telephone consultations and document preparation (such as letters, reports, or record review)—are billed in 15-minute increments, prorated at the standard hourly rate.
Fees are clearly stated and predictable. There are no surprise bills, retroactive insurance denials, or third-party involvement in determining the course of care. Clients who choose my practice do so with a clear understanding of the professional time, focus, and preparation their work requires.
Why I Operate a Self-Pay Practice
The self-pay model allows the therapeutic relationship to remain focused, confidential, and clinically driven.
Privacy and Discretion
Insurance participation requires the routine sharing of diagnoses, treatment plans, and clinical information with third parties. In my practice, your work remains confidential and contained within the therapeutic relationship—an important consideration for individuals in visible, high-responsibility, or leadership roles.
Clinically Led, Not Policy Driven
Insurance systems impose limits on session frequency, duration, and treatment direction. By working outside of those constraints, therapy in my practice is guided by clinical judgment and your specific goals, rather than by coverage rules or arbitrary endpoints.
No Mandatory Diagnostic Labeling
Many high-functioning individuals seek therapy for performance optimization, decision-making under pressure, life transitions, or relational complexity—areas that do not require pathologizing labels. In my practice, therapy begins with your objectives, not a diagnosis.
Intentionally Limited Caseload and Office Hours
I maintain a deliberately limited caseload and office schedule. By working with a smaller number of clients, I am able to provide a higher level of focus, continuity, and responsiveness. Sessions are not rushed, clinical preparation is prioritized, and the work is approached with care and intention rather than volume.
Limited availability in my practice is not a constraint—it is a professional standard that supports depth, consistency, and high-quality clinical judgment. This level of engagement is essential for the kind of work many high-achieving clients seek, and it would not be sustainable within an insurance-driven model.
Focus on the Work That Matters
By eliminating insurance-related administrative demands, I am able to devote more time and attention to direct clinical work, preparation, and continued professional development. This structure supports a higher level of presence, continuity, and quality in our sessions.
Autonomy and Choice
My practice offers full autonomy in selecting your psychologist and determining the depth and direction of your work—without third-party influence.
Out-of-Network Reimbursement
While I do not bill insurance directly, I can provide a monthly superbill upon request. Some clients choose to submit this to their insurance carrier for out-of-network reimbursement, depending on their plan. Any reimbursement arrangements remain between you and your insurer.
Is My Practice a Fit for You?
My practice is a strong fit for individuals who are functioning at a high level and want their psychological work to reflect that.
You may be a good fit if you:
- Are a high-achieving professional, leader, athlete, or individual carrying significant responsibility
- Value depth, discretion, and thoughtful, well-reasoned feedback
- Are comfortable taking an active role in your own growth and decision-making
- Prefer a direct, collaborative approach rather than a purely supportive or passive style
- Want therapy that is focused, intentional, and tailored—rather than protocol-driven
Clients who do well in my practice are typically seeking clarity, perspective, and durable change—not quick fixes or reassurance alone.
My practice may not be the best fit if you:
- Are seeking insurance-based care or need sessions billed directly to insurance
- Prefer a highly structured, worksheet-driven, or manualized treatment model
- Are looking primarily for validation without challenge or feedback
- Want therapy to move slowly without clear intention or direction
If you’re uncertain whether this approach aligns with what you’re looking for, we can explore that during an initial consultation. A strong therapeutic fit matters, and part of my role is helping you determine whether my practice is the right setting for your work.
Cancellation Policy
Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice are charged the full session fee. This policy reflects the professional time, preparation, and availability reserved exclusively for you.
